Our Origin

Built by someone who lived the problem

TrueVendorConnect began with a simple, frustrating experience: not being able to reliably find trustworthy suppliers.

TrueVendorConnect was created by a Black woman and beauty-supply-store owner who struggled for years to identify reliable, trustworthy suppliers for her own business. Sourcing decisions too often depended on private referrals and closed networks—if you didn't already know the right person, credible vendors could be nearly impossible to find.

Tired of closed doors

After running into the same walls again and again—vendors that were hard to vet, deals that depended on insider connections, and no easy way to compare options—the founder decided the beauty industry needed a better way to connect. Not another private referral list, but an open marketplace where any qualified vendor could be found, and any professional could source with confidence.

Building TrueVendorConnect

That experience became the foundation for TrueVendorConnect: a platform where beauty professionals—salon owners, stylists, barbers, nail technicians, estheticians and retailers—can search a growing marketplace of vendors, wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors and business-service providers, and reach out directly.

Inclusive of every qualified business

While the founder's own journey as a Black woman business owner shaped why this platform exists, TrueVendorConnect is built to be open to all qualified businesses. Vendors may choose to share ownership information—such as Black-owned, woman-owned or veteran-owned status—but doing so is entirely voluntary, and it is never a requirement to join or be discovered on the marketplace.

Why this matters

Sourcing shouldn't depend on who you happen to know.

Every qualified vendor deserves an equal chance to be found.

A platform inclusive of every beauty professional and business owner.
